into manageable pieces, clearing it out of harm’s way, and making the area
safe for the park to re open. Park Volunteer Steve Day is now over the park
having a general tidy up of blown debris. Certainly one way to spend your
Saturday morning!
I should have been up at the Hub crushing cans, but thankfully volunteers
Ren Armstrong and Brian Hicks took care of those, keeping things ticking
along while we tackled the tree.
A huge thank you to Dave, Ren, Brian and Steve for giving their time and
getting stuck in. Our park relies on volunteers, and mornings like this show
just how much goes on behind the scenes to keep it safe and welcoming for
everyone.

Parkeston Hub Noticeboard
Well, that wasn’t quite the Saturday morning I had planned! The day started relatively normally until I arrived to open the Welfare Park at 8am, only to discover that the extreme winds had brought a tree down across the pathway. As anyone who knows us will know, safety is always our priority, so the park had to remain closed until the area was made safe.A call to fellow Welfare Park volunteer Daveygravey Priestnall and, without hesitation, he was there to help. We then spent three hours cutting the tree into manageable pieces, clearing it out of harm’s way, and making the area safe for the park to re open. Park Volunteer Steve Day is now over the park having a general tidy up of blown debris.
