GLORIA GREENHOUSE – PARKESTON HUB!Despite a late start due to poor weather and late frosts, Gloria Greenhouse has produced some lovely homegrown goodies this year! From sweet cherry and salad tomatoes to cucumbers, sweet peppers, celery and spring onions. Even our herb garden managed to battle through the intense heat! This year’s growing season was mainly focused on personal use, although our Community Kitchen was fortunate enough to receive a small amount of fresh produce.Lynne works extremely hard with a little helping hand from Marion.Due to health reasons, Lynne will be stepping back from the outside raised beds, but we’re delighted that 2027 will see a new chapter for Gloria Greenhouse!Lynne will concentrate on growing fresh produce specifically for our Community Kitchen Lunch Club, bringing homegrown goodness straight from the greenhouse to our plates! The Lunch Club will fund the seeds, plants and fertiliser, and four water butts have now been supplied to collect rainwater, helping reduce water costs and making the project more sustainable.Grown at the Hub, served at the Hub and enjoyed by our lunch club.
