Our secret garden ….

We also have an Orchard

Reginald The Apple Inspector: Down by the dock river, in the open green space of the wonders of wildlife welfare park, lives a squirrel  with a serious job and a very silly tail. His name? Reginald. Now, Reginald is not any squirrel. Oh no-he’s the self declared Official Apple inspector. Each day, as the apples drop and splat, Reginald appears like clockwork, ready for his important duties. Scurrying from Apple to Apple like a tiny food critic. If an apple drops and is too squishy -fling!- into the bushes for an insect banquet. If he finds a good one… if it’s just right-sweet and crisp, and sun warmed -he clutches it like treasure, does a happy wiggle, and drags it to his secret squirrel pantry behind the old log. Sometimes ducks wonder too close. Reginald gives them the look. You know the one. The “touch my apples and I’ll go full ninja” stare. The peaceful park, made especially for children, families and wildlife. How lucky are we to have the welfare park!

The little apple orchard within the welfare park was given by the Scattered Orchard Scheme.
