Parkeston Hub, not just for the younger generation. The Adult Hub is part of the Community and Sports Centre located behind The Railway Club. The Community Kitchen was started in 2017 because it was noticed by Bill Davidson that the elderly residents especially within our area were not seeing anybody for days sometimes weeks, yet have lived in the area years and all knew each other but did not have a common meeting area. The dining club was originally started by Bill and Tracey Davidson until illness forced Tracey to sadly stop. Volunteers Jade and Amy took over the cooking which helped Bill to develop the dining club more . Jade and Amy moved on to pastures new. Tracey, Lynne and Marion took over the role It is held every Friday and now has 28-32 members. The dining club is great for everyone to come along for a few hours, have a chat, have a two course home cooked meal, tea, coffee, juice and water in abundance and after lunch a game of bingo. We do not charge for this, we ask only if you can to make a small donation. All welcome, pop along and join us.The success of the dining club is all down to our wonderful team of volunteers:Bill – Volunteer / Washer upperTracey – Volunteer Shopping/CookMarion – VolunteerLin – Volunteer Steve – VolunteerDavid – Bingo callerAll enquiries: Ring Bill on 07506212377email billdavidson@live.co.ukWe are open every Friday.
