The wonders of wildlife at the Welfare park.
Just a joke…. but:
The wildlife end of the Welfare park is alive with natures charm this season, offering a peaceful retreat full of wildlife wonders. Muntjac deer can be seen with their young fawns exploring the woodland edges, while hedgehogs-plump and rested – emerge from hibernation to begin their nightly foraging.
Squirrels dart playfully up the tree trunks, butterflies dance through the wildflowers, and the bees buzz busily among the blooms. By the waters edge, swans have proudly welcomed their signets, who now nestle safely in the reeds along the bank. Overhead, a wide array of birds can be seen and heard, making this area of the park a paradise for nature.
At the heart of this natural space is a dedicated section at the bottom of the park, lovingly cared for by committee member Davey Priestnall. Davey volunteers his time to protect and nurture this wildlife area. His passion for the environment ensures this special corner remains a sanctuary for the animals.
The Wonders of wildlife at the welfare park continues to flourish under the watchful eye of Davey.

I would like to say Thank you to the generous Bill Davidson. This man has made what the park is not just recently but for 15 years. He still does everything in the background without the need or want of anything. When Bill applied to take over the environmental end of the welfare park (and got it as additional area to the welfare park) it was me, my mate and Bill up to our waists in water cutting down entangles of reeds, building a pontoon to observe the wildlife, and planting the little wild orchard and wild flower areas for the bees and butterflies. It’s nice to evolve and new ideas and interests but let’s not forget the man that made all this happen. Bill Davidson – Thank you!
